ME:

am a post-undergraduate student at CSU- Stanislaus in the Teaching Credential program. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Art History from UC- Berkeley and an Associate's Degree in Art from Modesto Junior College. My work has mostly involved drawing and sketching of the human form so I am trying to understand different media and how they relate to communication. My ultimate goal is to become a high school Art teacher in the public school system. I feel that Art is an excellent outlet for young adults' sense of expression.

This week was my first week at CSU- Stanislaus. I was extremely nervous and felt out of place. I'm hoping that I do well in all my classes. It's a totally different environment than I've been in as of late and I feel like I'm out of touch with my "student" side.

I keep reminding myself that I will get back into the swing of things and soon enough I'll just be enjoying my studies and life as a student again. Minus all the nervousness that is, hahaha! I can't wait to be a teacher. I have nothing but fond memories of being in Art class and hope that I'll be just as good of an art teacher as the ones that inspired me so long ago.

Below is a sketch that I started recently. It is a self-portrait done in pencil:

  1. Ah, education. One of the nobler professions. My teachers might not remember me, but I'll always remember them.

Who am I kidding? Considering my shenanigans during my school days, of course they remember me.
